My Story
I completed my graduation in Electronics Engineering, and then I pursued a diploma in quality testing for Computers. I worked for 2.5 years in a multinational company for the same profile, and then I decided to take a break. We were having a baby, so I quit my job at that point in time.
Quite strangely, I did not regret my decision of quitting the job even a bit, as many other women I saw were having that guilt. A lot of people were concerned about my decision and warned me about the struggle of getting a job post-pregnancy with a gap of more than a year. However, I had realized, also not the first time in my life, that I never really wanted to opt for such corporate jobs ever. I had never seen myself having a position in the corporate culture.
I had always dreamt of being a “businesswoman”, flaunting like a boss lady. However, due to some requirements of the time, I pursued my degree, then a diploma in quality testing, and also in automation testing. Moreover, I had passed the international level examination with flying colors and earned 85%. And if all this was not enough, I also had a chance to go on-site for a project, which is held as one of the biggest opportunities of the career of an engineer.
However, as I have already stated above, it was not meant for me. I had a constant feeling of not being at the right place where I am destined to be. And I finally decided to go for that recurrent feeling of “creating something of my own”. The entire duration of my pregnancy, and till my baby became 10 months old, I was researching about my idea of my own something. I always loved to help people get ready with makeup and hairstyles, but somehow it had remained just my hobby, till the time I took a decision to transform it into my business.
To be honest, I did not know much about the makeup industry. I had no idea how vast it actually is, beyond beauty parlors. It really took a lot to dig deep and research thoroughly about it. Then I came to know about some really big and prominent names of this field and their mesmerizing work. That ignited my passion again and I courageously took the decision to join a short 12-day basic makeup course. They say, what you like and what you excel at can be two different things. I just wanted to be sure that my case is not similar.
My mother helped me with the babysitting and I completed the course with amazing insights about myself. Those 12 days proved to be life-changing for me, and as they say, it opened some brilliant doors of opportunities in this field for me. Not that I immediately started working with big names, but it gave me a crystal clear idea about my skills and where I stand. My actual research started thereafter and I did not turn back from this point. I learned about celebrity make-ups, and the standard of work required for it.
My actual journey of work started from this point and I left no stone unturned to achieve my target. I worked like anything, did internships, did so many free make-ups for people, just so that I can collect all the experience to become the master at my work. Because this art is all about practice and polishing the skills through it. All education can bring oneself only up to a certain level, however leveling up entirely depends on the person pursuing this art particularly. Bringing creativity and a different unique touch is what matters the most, and can differentiate an artist from another.
A year went like this, and my first wedding season, where I worked like an individual artist, which actually earned me some name and money, happened to be the last one before Covid hit the world. Months left by, depression started building, but my passion for this form of art helped me survive it.
Thankfully, I was able to manage this time well and I also completed an advanced-level makeup course online from a very talented Delhi-based artist. I also reserved a place in the first 5 in the competition she took for her students. That boosted my confidence drastically, and I again started working in October 2020. People are watching and knowing about the quality of my work and I am getting recognized for it. My growth in such a small span of time really makes me humble and improves my trust in hard work and skill. I am grateful for the acknowledgement and love I am getting from all of my clients.

We have experienced the struggle for a newbie to step up and educate oneself in this glamorous industry, and that’s exactly where we want ourselves to get introduced to help lessen this struggle and provide some concrete means of education and skill development.
